Check-up
At the Valle Giulia Clinic, if required by the patient, complete Check -Ups are performed to assess the patients' health.
These are carried out in only one day and require clinical examination and instrumental and coordinated laboratory investigations performed by a physician.

GYNECOLOGIC CHECK-UP
The project has the objective to identify in the female population, any possible risk factors for the onset of cancer in the cervix and in the uterus, which today represents the second most common malignant tumour in the woman after the breast cancer. The screening is performed through cytological (Pap-smear and cyto-brush) sampling. The positive cases of risk factors (eg. infection from HPV Papilloma virus) can subsequently be investigated through the execution of the "protein P16" on the same slide without further sampling and to avoid the patient from coming back. The "protein P16" identifies the viral strains HPV to a greater risk of a dysplastic transformation, addressing the patient to successive diagnostic examinations. During the same visit, it will be possible to perform a transvaginal US. It will be possible to underline possible intrauterine pathologies (endometrial polyps, uterine fibromas) frequently responsible for menstrual alterations (spotting, metrorrhagia, etc.), therefore instructing the patient to start the cure. Furthermore, with the transvaginal US, it will be possible to diagnose any possible ovarian pathology (cysts, endometriomas, policystic ovaries, etc.).
BREAST CHECK-UP
The breast has always been the symbol of health and femininity. For such reason, it requires regular clinical controls. If any nodules will be present also in the most precocious phases, such examinations will give high possibilities of recovery. The breast cancer is potentially a serious illness if not diagnosed and treated in time; it is due to the multiplication of some cells of the mammary gland that transform into malignant ones. The principal causes are: the heredity, the precocious puberty, the late menopause, the absence of pregnancies and finally the age (more than the 80% of the cases of cancer affect women above their 50's). The breast cancer affect a woman out of ten and, only in Italy, there are 37.000 new cases every year. Women are the ones most affected, and thanks to the precocious diagnosis, they have the possibility to cure it. The check-up consists in:
CLINICAL BREAST EXAMINATION: The specialist will fill a file with the complete clinical examination.
STRUMENATAL EXAMS: An ultrasound is performed and, if necessary, a mammogram with highly efficient equipment will be added as a support. In case of necessity, a fine needle biopsy and/or the magnetic resonance will complete the diagnostic procedure.
THERAPY: It offers the multidisciplinary collaboration of expert surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, radiotherapists, physiotherapists and psychologists.
This elaborate path, will allow the woman to not only perform a complete prevention, but also, to treat in time the illness if indicated by the doctor. It must be remembered that the more the diagnosis is precocious, the higher the possibility of recovery. Thanks to this program, the woman will conclude this path in a short amount of time (around a hour) and can plan the following check-up within the 6-12 following months.
CARDIOLOGY CHECK - UP
- DYNAMIC ECG - HOLTER 24/72 Recording of the ECG during the daily activity through a small recorder applied to the patient for evaluation of arrhythmias and ischemia.
- ARTERIAL PRESSURE MONITORING /24 H Recording of the arterial pressure during the 24 hours while the patient conducts a normal daily activity. Application of a bracelet and an automatic computerized instrument. " Electrocardiogram " Doppler echocardiography
